The 10 commandments of punk guitar

Dando vueltas por la web encontré los siguientes “mandamientos” compilados por los dos guitarristas constantes de Bad Religion. Todo lo que esos hombres digan es digno de escucharse y a mi opinión cierto … pero hay aquellos infieles que lo cuestionarán.


The 10 commandments of punk guitar


(Brian Baker, of Bad Religion) along with Greg Hetson of Bad Religion and Circle Jerks fame have compiled a list of 10 commandments of punk guitar. They are as follows:

* Treat your guitar like shit and it will respect you.

* To get that mean fuckin' low end and still retain some highs in your sound, use only Gibson guitars. SG's and Les Pauls are the ultimate punk rock tools.

* Use only downstrokes. Downstrokes are the key to unlocking all punk rhythms.

* Plaster your guitars with stickers to prove that you're an individual. Remember, being uncool is cool, so one Van Halen is worth three Sex Pistols stickers.

* The Marshall JMP 100-Watt master volume head is the Holy Grail of amps. Other people get all hot and bothered about what kind of speakers and cabinets they use, but that's all bullshit. You can plug the JMP into virtually anything and it's going to sound wonderful.

* No open tunings. Grunge is not punk rock.

* Don't be self-indulgent. Limit your guitar solos to eight bars or less. Otherwise, you're playing metal.

* Never, ever play a show with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth. It's incredibly painful when a stage diver pushes off your face and smashes the red-hot cherry into your cheek.

* It may be punk to be fucked up at your day job, but when you take the stage you should be straight. It's hard to play music with intensity and speed when you're drunk.

* Do not stack Marshall cabinets. That's not punk, it's arena rock. The Ramones are the only band exempted from this rule.


Cierto y real. Regreso a estudiar para mi examen.

Se siente como Octubre.

Me vuelve loco salir a la calle y sentir fresco, es que no es nada mas el clima para mi es todo un sentimiento a una particular época del año y mas particularmente la de mi cumple yeah! Me cago en el frío me gusta el calor, pero me gusta Cancún cuando baja la temperatura ya que no es asfixiante es como debería de ser el otoño en un pueblo de Playa, que de casualidad se volvió ciudad. Aparte lo que mas me molesta es que este sentimiento debió haber llegado hace un mes pero gracias a que el mundo esta roto ahora se tarda mas y a ver sí si es cierto y nos dura este clima y haber si baja mas y hasta puedo salir con sudadera.

Ya quiero que sea mi cumpleaños y de ahí ya quiero que sea Navidad.

Este blog fue chiquito chiquito como los de Ñaña, pero es que me remuerde la conciencia no escribir nada.

Bueno nel voy a anotarle mas cosas.

Proyectos que estoy llevando a cabo, para que estén pendientes:

-Nuevo disco de Niños Feos

-Demo de Longshot

-Demo de Los Campeones

-Aprender a grabar música

-Bajar 21 kilos (ya baje 4 y medio wuuu)

-Pasar mi año escolar limpio

-Leer más

-Mejorar mi horrible horrible ortografía

Y creo que ya.

Extraño machin a mi vieja, soy bien SENTIMENTAL! :P

Así me veo ahora, tengo la cabeza de lado. Ya me voy a dejar la barba otra vez.
